                        Sub : Setting up of new Service Tax Commissionerate in Mumbai – reg.

 

                        In terms of Ministry of Finance Order No.4/2/2004-Service Tax dtd. 18th May 2004 and Order No.11013/47/2004-Ad.IV dtd. 14th September 2004, a new service tax Commissionerate has been created and has started functioning w.e.f. 15th September 2004 at the following address till further orders :-

2.                     The Service Tax Commissionerate comprises all areas of Municipal Corporations of Greater Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai and other areas comprising of the following Commissionerate of Central Excise :

 

  1. Commissioner of Central Excise, Mumbai-I
  2. Commissioner of Central Excise, Mumbai-II
  3. Commissioner of Central Excise, Mumbai-III
  4. Commissioner of Central Excise, Mumbai-IV
  5. Commissioner of Central Excise, Mumbai-V
  6. Commissioner of Central Excise, Thane-I
  7. Commissioner of Central Excise, Thane-II
  8. Commissioner of Central Excise, Belapur

 

3.                     The Service Tax Commissionerate is divided in to 6 Divisions having territorial jurisdiction as follows :

Thadani Road, up to the sea shore on the South, bounded by Railway line between Lower Parel station to Elphinston Road station on Eastern side.

Areas comprising of ward S & T of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai & adjoining areas of Thana Taluka bound by West side of Eastern Express Highway from Mulund Checknaka to Kapurbawadi and Ghodbunder Road upto Thane Municipal limit of the state of Maharashtra.

Thane-I

Areas comprising Bhiwandi, Wada, Jawahar, Mokhada, Shahapur, Murbad, Ulhasnagar, & Kalyan Talukas of Thane District and Thane City of Thane Taluka from east side of Eastern Express Highway to Kapurbawadi & Ghodbunder Road upto Thane Municipal Limit and Thane creek from Kalwa Bridge upto Nagla Bunder of State of Maharashtra.

Thane-II

Areas comprising the district of Thane of the State of Maharashtra, the area comprising of Vasai Taluka, Palghar Taluka, Dahanu Taluka, Talasari Taluka, Thane Taluka of Thane District from Nagla Bunder Police Chowky to Dahisar Checknaka (consisting of Mira Bhayandar, Kashimira, Kashigaon, Ghodbunder village upto Vasai Creek) including creek from Nagla Bunder upto Arabian Sea.
